Ionizer Cleaning and Maintenance...Optimize the life of your purchase
As a Child... we all heard on more than one occasion, "Take care of your things, they will last longer." Koganei believes your ionizer purchase should be no exception. Below is a suggested cleaning procedure to optimize the life of your purchase with our ionizer products.
Clean: Koganei recommends every 300 to 500 hours of use, you clean your ionizer.
Needle Replacement: Koganei needle should be replaced every 10,000 hours of use
(life expectancy of discharge needle)
Easiest on market to maintain!
Koganei "Quick Release" is best for OEM!
Precautions for Maintenance & Cleaning:
1. Always check and ensure power supply and supply air pressure is in OFF position
2. Never use a wire brush (can damage discharge needle)
3. Contamination on the tip of the discharge needle can reduce ionizer performance
4. Discharge needles are consumable parts that MUST be replaced if used over long periods
5. After cleaning, flush the needle. Residual alcohol on needle can affect function
Cleaning Procedure Example: (does not apply to other manufacturers)
Using Koganei (DTY-ELK) series ionizers:
1. Apply alcohol (isopropyl alcohol, etc.) to cotton swab, & clean tip of discharge needle
2. With swab, also remove any contamination inside and around metal cap
Maintenance Documentation:
Many customers have developed their own methods of tracking based on process requirements and internal policies and procedures. Most schedules are designed with simple excel spreadsheets by those whom are responsible for the maintenance of machinery.
